Cebu Pacific starts flights to surfing capital

LOW-COST carrier Cebu Pacific will offer a thrice weekly Cebu to Siargao service starting today. Flights to Siargao, famous as a surfing destination, will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and will cost P1,188.

A Manila to Siargao flight via Cebu will also be offered for P1,288. Cebu Pacific also started a Cebu to Dumaguete service, available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, for P688. The Gokongwei-led carrier will also increase Cebu to Ozamiz flights from four times a week to daily. From 28 times a week, the Cebu to Cagayan de Oro service will also be expanded to 36 weekly, with an additional evening service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The airline recently cut ticket prices by up to 17% by removing surcharges for international flights. Rival Philippine Airlines likewise said it had slashed fuel surcharges by as much as $38 on selected international flights from Manila in response to decreasing world oil prices.
