Iloilo’s P1-million first class toilet open for public use before year ends

Regions - Iloilo

ILOILO CITY, Sept 11 (PNA) – The construction of Iloilo City’s first-class toilet is nearing its completion and will be open to public use before the end of this year.

Iloilo mayor Jerry P. Trenas said, the renovation of the toilet, which is situated at the Iloilo central market, is funded by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to the tune of P1-million.

“It is complete with necessary fixtures and the flooring was changed from ordinary cement to tiles,” the mayor said.

He added that the project is the city’s entry to the annual Clean and Green contest of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Just recently, vendors and customers at the Iloilo central market raised their concern over the lack of restroom in the area.

The completion of the project is now dependent on how fast the city engineer’s office will do its assigned task. (PNA)LBV/ajp/PGLena/vlo
