CEBU CITY – The Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corp. (CPVDC), developer of the Asiatown IT Park here, announced Wednesday the sale of the remaining six available commercial lots within the 24-hectare development.
CPVDC President Francis Monera bared this during the company’s annual stockholders meeting last week at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.
He told stakeholders the residual lots totaled 9,737 square meters (sq m), contributing P233.6-million to CPVDC’s income. The company is a publicly listed firm that started as a joint venture between the Cebu Provincial Government and Ayala Land Inc.
Monera said buyers in Asiatown include a mix of developers who are planning to put up a school, a hotel and other commercial buildings catering to the business process outsourcing (BPO) firms.
“Buyers already have blueprints for their buildings. Had it not been for the global crisis, we would have seen a much faster build-up,” he told reporters.
Demand for office space in Cebu is evidenced by the continuing build-up at the IT Park. The year 2008 saw the completion of i3, TG Tower, Skyrise 2, and e-Bloc Tower, a 12-story office condominium project of CPVDC and its mother company Ayala Land Inc. Corporate Business Group.
